Catering


Children are required to stay on the academy site at lunchtimes.

The academy provides a varied selection of meals and the menu changes on a five weekly cycle. The meals are all cooked on site. Provision is available for those who prefer to bring a packed lunch.

Free school meals are available for children who are eligible and application forms may be obtained from the academy office.

Breakfast is provided each day and is served within the nurture group setting within the tutor group.

Healthy Snacks are provided during morning break and pupils have access to water.

Lunch time routines are very structured. All pupils are seated with staff to enjoy their lunch and, during the rest of lunch time, pupils and staff engage in a wide variety of activities.

Free school meals

As a parent or carer, if you are in receipt of certain benefits then you may be eligible to claim free school meals. Free school meals are available to those pupils in full time education whose parent/carer receives certain types of benefit or support.

For a pupil to receive Free school meals, the pupil’s parent/carer must receive one of the following:

  • income support
  • income based job seekers allowance
  • income related employment and support allowance
  • guarantee element of state pension credit
  • child tax credit with no working tax credit and have an income as assessed by the Inland Revenue that does not exceed £16,190 (subject to change annually)
  • support under Part 1V of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999.
  • Pupils are also entitled to free school meals if they themselves receive any of the above allowances in their own right.
